Privacy Policy — Spam Slayer
Spam Slayer answers unwanted phone calls with AI characters, screens them, and lets you replay and share the results. This policy explains what data the app and service collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Spam Slayer mobile apps and the Spam Slayer web app.
Data we collect
- Profile information you provide: your name (optional), your phone number (the number you want protected), and your email address (optional, used only if you ask for clip digests).
- Call data: when a call is forwarded to Spam Slayer, our AI characters answer it. We record and store the audio and a transcript of that call, the caller's phone number, and call metadata (time, duration, which character answered, and the outcome).
- Spam reputation data: caller numbers and call outcomes feed our spam-number database so every user gets better screening.
- Notifications: a device push token, if you enable notifications.
- Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We receive subscription status only — we never see or store your card number.
- Basic usage data: app interactions and diagnostics used to keep the service working.
How we use it
- To answer, screen, and manage calls forwarded to the service on your behalf.
- To show you replays, transcripts, and shareable clips of handled calls.
- To notify you of live calls and completed screenings, if you enable notifications.
- To maintain and improve screening quality and our spam-number database.
- To provide support and manage subscriptions.
How calls are handled
Spam Slayer only receives calls that your phone forwards to it (for example, calls you don't answer, or suspected-spam and unknown callers, depending on how you set it up). Calls from people in your contacts ring your phone as usual. Callers who reach Spam Slayer interact with an AI assistant, and those calls are recorded and transcribed as part of the service.
What we share
- Service providers: telephony carriers (for example Telnyx) to route calls and messages, cloud AI providers to generate the characters' speech and understand the conversation, payment processors (Apple, Google, Stripe) for subscriptions, and hosting infrastructure. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
- You: clips you choose to share are shared by you, at your direction.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. No ads.
Retention and deletion
Call recordings, transcripts, and profile data are retained while your account is active so you can access your call history. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected] from the email or phone number tied to your account — we delete within 30 days. Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete your data or disable call forwarding; you can disable forwarding at any time in the app's setup instructions or through your carrier.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on access-controlled servers.
Children
Spam Slayer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app.
